OUR VISION OF TRAVEL
« Discovering a country while respecting and valuing it. »

Since 1995, Coco Tours has been a local French-speaking travel agency specializing in custom trips and responsible tours in Honduras and Nicaragua. Founded by Miguel, a Frenchman who has lived in Honduras since 1994, married to a Honduran woman and father of five French-Honduran children, our team is deeply rooted in the local culture.

Based in the Garifuna village of Triunfo de la Cruz, on the Bay of Tela, we favor respectful, community-minded tourism designed to foster genuine encounters with local communities, off the beaten path.

We work closely with Indigenous and Garifuna communities to help them benefit directly from the economic returns of tourism. Our approach to travel is deeply human, community-minded, and eco-conscious — we believe it's possible to discover a country while respecting and valuing it, and that has been our mission for nearly 30 years.

SUSTAINABLE TOURISM

Why travel with a local agency

✈️

Skip the middlemen

By booking directly with a local French-speaking agency, you're guaranteed a personalized trip at a fair price.

🤝

Support local communities

Garifuna, Chortí, Lenca… we've worked for years with these communities to create authentic, lasting exchanges.

🌿

Reduce your environmental footprint

Our tours limit environmental impact: low-impact transportation, small family-run lodging, committed partners.

🛖

Choose authenticity

Off the beaten path, you'll have real encounters in places often overlooked, far from mass tourism.

🌱

Discover an unspoiled Honduras

Flexible itineraries to biodiversity-rich areas where nature reigns.

🎭

Immerse yourself in living cultures

Afro-Caribbean, Indigenous, or rural: local cultures are at the heart of your experience.

🌍

Fair tourism

15% of the price of every trip goes to community development projects — sustainable housing, schools, health centers, public facilities.

💬

Meet and connect

Cuisine, music, languages, and living traditions: local knowledge shared by the families themselves.
